It brings a fond memory of my wife to mind, as I think this was one of the myriad of complications she dealt with, which also included a brain disorder of either encephalopathy and/or encephalitis, which in turn deprived her of sensory and motor skills, rendered her unable to hold a phone, hear, speak, or see very well. The only way I knew she was aware of me being with her, was when she would bring my hand to her face to kiss it.

But before her brain disorders set-in, a vascular surgeon did a number of procedures on her legs in an attempt to prevent recurring blood clots, including using bovine arteries after the balloons, etc., failed, and he had to begin a series of what amounted to 5 amputations.

Well, a total of 5 amputations, on two legs, resulted in one of my wife's legs being longer than the other one. There was no way she was going to deal with prosthetics. She was determined that she could walk on the stumps of her legs, as an uncle of hers had done. But, she wanted a 6th amputation, to make the her leg lengths match, so that she wouldn't have a limp!

You had to know her. She didn't get that 6th amputation. The stump finally healed with continued wound care.

But...the indications I mentioned need the treatment of lenz that doctors will discover once this drug is in their hands. Patients go through holy hell dealing with these preventable/curable issues, that the FDA is denying them.
